Meet the team

The Consultancy is a small yet highly experienced team with a passion for working with healthcare professionals to improve the care provided to people living with diabetes.

 David Hiles, Senior Consultant (London and South East of England)

Over the last 16 years David has worked with the NHS to implement national long-term condition strategies. Having worked in a variety of long term conditions including mental health and HIV, he co-led the development of the first risk stratification tool produced to predict the risk of patients having an asthma attack. He also has significant experience of service redesign, health promotion and developing effective self-management tools. An NLP practitioner, David loves working closely with clients to deliver improved outcomes in diabetes care. The rest of his time is spent pretending to be a Batman with his 5 year old son, William.

Adam Smith, Consultant (North of England)

Adam is our full time consultant in the North of England and joins the team with a wealth of experience from his background working in provider services, Public Health and commissioning roles. In previous roles he was involved in the successful bid and implementation of the National Diabetes Prevention Programme across Cheshire and the Wirral. Adam will lead on the team’s work across the North of England helping to improve patient outcomes and services in a truly meaningful way. In his spare time, Adam loves spending time with his young family and friends and playing or watching sports. Adam also loves writing about himself in the third person.

Caroline Plummer, Consultancy Administrator

Caroline joins the team as with a wealth of experience in the health sector including Primary Care administration Caroline looks after the team’s back office functions while providing key and crucial insights from her past experience. As a trained counselor in her spare time she adds a further dynamic to our growing team. A self confessed London addict, when not busy with work or counselling she can be found exploring the big smoke.
